THE BOOKS

I think it's fair to say that my life, so far at least, has been a tad 'unusual'! When I left school in the mid 70's I had no qualifications and no idea of what the future held. For some bizarre reason I got a job as an undertaker then a milkman, bus driver, freezer man, worked for Boots, Apple and even setup my own computer company with a group of friends before, finally, ending up working in Maternity! Oh, yes, and I also become a poet, author and vigilante along the way!

An Undertaker's Diary

ISBN-978-1425976088

This was my third book and was a direct result of an unexpected find of 'old papers and diaries' that I had kept during the 8 years I worked as an undertaker.

During this time I encountered death and despair on a daily basis but the book encapsulates some of the more 'memorable' events such as murders, suicides, plain crashes and pure old blood and guts.

Each chapter tells a separate story written from a first person perspective and allows the reader to accompany a young undertaker to a world very few people either get or WANT to see!

Poems from the Graveyard

ISBN-978-1842940532

This was my first book and was drawn from the poems and short stories that I wrote whilst attending funerals (hence the name!).

It's pretty much a mixed bunch so expect humour (some of it quite sick!) and all sorts of other emotions (not least because, at the time I wrote it, I was having 'heart problems' and was awaiting what could have quite possibly been the last operation I'd ever had!

This Aint Shakespeare

ISBN-978-1842940723

I was inspired to write this, my 2nd book, after winning a BBC children's poetry competition with my poem (featured) entitled 'Gone Fishing'.

Strangely enough, being a poet, I really didn't/don't like a lot of poetry/poets and, having been forced to read/listen to Will Shakespeare when I was young, I decided to vent my dislike by writing my own book full of poems, prose and stories as far away from this as possible.

Think Spike Milligan, Pam Ayres and a touch of Edgar Allan Poe and you wont be far off!

Me Against the World

Available via BLURB.CO.UK and via iTunes

This book focuses on another period of my life where, for reasons best explained in the book, I took it upon myself to try and fight various 'evils' including corrupt and uncaring corporations (in this case Connex South East and Thames Water) before focusing my attentions upon the common car-thieves.

Military dress purely optional the newspapers gave my alter-egos all new names - The Car-Park Commando and, my personal favourite, The Sewerage Soldier!
